Following a celebratory week for Botlab’s AGM it’s time for this months Dorkbot. Come along to say hello or bring along any project you would like to show and tell.

Dorkbot is held at the Pervasive Media Studio’s new location in the Watershed.

Dorkbot Bristol and Bristol Hackspace share may links. Support from ‘BotLab’ the company that runs Bristol Hackspace and made the ‘Draw’ project possible for Dorkbot is one of them.

Come along to the BotLab AGM on Thursday 16th Feb to find out more about what BotLab does and what it can do for the creative technology community in Bristol. Best of all you can help shape it. A new cooperative constitution will be adopted at the meeting. You can become a voting member at the meeting to both stand and vote for a new board of directors for the company.

The AGM will be held in the Hackspace at BV studios in Bedminster, doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.

The aim is for the business of the meeting to be prompt. Refreshments will be provided to celebrate the occasion for those who want to stay and chat and/or hack.

Come along to the last Dorkbot of 2011. There’s time to still squeeze more creative technology fun from the year. Bring along any project you would like to show and tell about. We can then move on to the Watershed bar to round of the year for Dorkbot and Bristol Hackspace.

‘The times they are a changing’.

Come along to this months Dorkbot at the all new ‘C’ Space, the Pervasive Media Studio’s new home at the Watershed. Turn right at the end of the Bar upstairs at the Watershed to find a new oasis of creative technology and more. The Pervasive Media Studio (Dorkbot Bristol’s hosts) have moved to occupy the Future Lab space at the Watershed.Doors open at 7.00 (but we don’t get going to till 8.00).

This month we will be featuring Dorkbot Bristol/Hackspace adventures into creating an open source miller at an affordable price. So far we have promising results making PCB’s, plastic engraving, even cutting metal (may be wood, paper or other materials too). we are looking for beta testers for those are interested to make stuff.

On a different visual scale Amias Channer will be bringing along his Glowfitti lighting installation to entertain.

June’s Dorkbot celebrates a musical theme. Bring along anything you’d like to show and tell or come along for the entertainment.

As part of BV Studio’s open weekend, October 14th - 16th Bristrol Hackspace has been given the kitchen space to set up exhibits. This seems like a great opportunity to make a musical installation, from what might be found or appropriated in a kitchen. We’d like to use this month’s Dorkbot as a source of inspiration.

After a period of gestation, we will at long last also introduce a new spot for ‘Tech Heroes’. This month there will be a talk about Harrison and the story of longitude. A fascinating and instructive tale of vision, persistence and lateral thinking.

Dorkbot is held at the Pervasive Media Studio, Tuesday 21st June from 7.00pm.
